It’s Not All Apples
The story is set in Ireland. It is springtime, 2020; the country is in lockdown. Eve and her grandmother, Grace, dream of starting a family business based on their large orchard. Their plan is in jeopardy because a road improvement might force them to sell a chunk of the orchard.
They prepare for battle. The one flaw is that Grace does not trust lawyers. This changes when charming and handsome Adam lands on their doorstep, needing help. Eve suspects he is hiding some of the truth about his car accident from them, especially as he smells of alcohol. However, they cannot leave him stranded. They learn that Adam is a lawyer.
Eve gets sneaky. She reasons that it would be stupid to ignore such an opportunity.
Adam’s life, until now, has been filled with beautiful but manipulating girlfriends. His career is important to him. He is not about to work with a conniving woman. But Eve’s blackmail threat leaves him with no choice.
Gradually, they discover they have much in common and have not banked on their intense attraction and feelings. Will their hearts or minds win this battle?
